A day of date's/ Weymouth

Thursday: birthday-lunch invitation-Shakespeare

The Thursday started with a birthday breakfast at the farm shop where we often meet for lunch. We had been invited for Mary's Birthday Brunch. She celebrated her birthday one day earlier because she had other plans for the next day. We arrived at 9:30 and met a lot of friends, for example Pam and Paul, Margret, Inet,Doris, etc. Everybody was chatting with each other and we hadn't seen them all for over a week so it was nice to hear all the news. We stayed there for 3 1/2 hours. After that I went home and J. went to the garage(because somebody had broken her rear-view mirror) and afterwards to the dentist. She had forgotten that we were invited for lunch at Bethan's so I got a call and she explained me the way to Bethan. She had invited her German friend Moni who is married to an English husband and she lives in England now. She was waiting for me with her daugther and we talked for a while and afterwards had lunch with Bethan and her son Hugh, who just graduated from Oxford. J. arrived as well and we had a lovely time together. After some hours together we drove home and I had to pack my bag for one week in Weymouth. I really dislike packing my bag but I had not got too much time because we had to leave home at 4 o'clock to meet Lynn and Chris. We met them in Stamford for a meal in ASK.Italian. J. bought tickets for the outdoor theatre in Tolethrope for Romeo and Juliet.

Chris worked nearly his whole life as a solicitor so he was very interested in talking to us. They talked about how they spend their life after both retired and Chris is working as a vicar now. They talked about their daugther and the upcoming wedding next week. It was really intersting because he and his daugther both stayed some time in Germany. We drank wine and enjoyed our Italian food and had an original Italian ice-cream afterwards (so good!).
It was just fun spending the evening together. Because after our meal we drove to Tolethrope and saw a stunning theatre show.

The whole stage was situated in the woods that means that it was surrounded by trees. Birds flew around and you could sometimes see butterflies or other animals.
 The stage in the evening

It was something special because the actors seemed to be young but really good. They had changed some things for example Juliet's family was a Gypsie-family and Romeo's father was a monk in the play. They also worked with a lot of special effects, like when Romeo died there came  a cross out of the ground.
We drove home (1 hour) and went late but happy to bed.

Friday- travelling and camping again

On Friday we left home at 10 o'clock because we travelled towards London again. We visited Barbara (J.'s husband's cousin) and J. and she drove to the hospital to see Gwenn. I stayed at Barbara's because I could read my book there and watch TV. I finished my book (Asking Alaska by John Green) and waited for them. From there we drove to Marlow to visit Monica (J's sister). She lives there with her husband Jeremy and she had prepared a lovely dinner for the four of us. We stayed over night and drove on Saturday 4 hours to Weymouth.
The traffic was appalling and all the main streets so crowded. Everybody seemed to be driving South. But after we arrived we were happy because it is so nice here.
They weather is so good and camping in a Trailor Tent is not too bad.
I am not a huge camping fan,  but when you sleep in a "real" bed with blankets, a lot of pillows and the weather is nice it's really okay!
So now I'm in Weymouth for one week. It's close to the Jurassic Coast which is a very picturesque coast line. It is a World Heritage Site on the Channel.
I will show you more pictures in the following days.

here I am at the moment

Loch Earn- Camping for Sailing

Our weekend at Loch Earn   Loch Earn Now I am already 1 month away from home. How the time rushes! I am happy to make all these experiences. We went camping to "Loch Earn" which is a lake. In Scotland one calls a lake a "loch". The English people have difficulties to pronunce that word, but for Scotish people and German it is easy. The kids sailed and therefore we camped all together there. I must admit: This was my first real camping experience. Since then I only camped at festivals like "Rock am Ring". The proper camping is more luxurious than our party-camping. I had a thick, comfy blowing-up matress and also a cushion(!). We had warm showers with seperate cabins and we had enough electricity. That was really good. My host family are camping-experts so they bought everything we need for cooking, drinking, etc. At our first day it was so windy. We managed to build our tents up and as soon as we were inside it started to rain! What a luck! The ...

Inchcolm Abbey and the Royal Gallery

A lonely island next to the city centre- Inchcolm   This Saturday we took the ferry and went to Inchcolm Abbey. It's a beautfiul island in the Firth of Forth in Scotland. From Edinburgh we drove only 15 minutes to get the ferry and it cost 16 pounds to get to the island and back. Your first thought is that "Wow. This is quit expensive", but it was really worth going on the island! The tour was guided so the speaker told us a lot about the history of the 2 finished bridges and the one which is still in progress at the moment. It was really interesting to hear all about the bridges the railway bridge is for example now Scotland's sixth world heritage site. Then we arrived at the island which is cared for by Historic Scotland. On the island there is an abbey from the 12th century which was built by King David the First. The abbey and it's grounds are fully open to the public and it was so nice to wander around. There are a lot of birds on the island. It...

First Day

Start of my journey- Everything new My journey started on 6th May. I travelled by Eurostar to Bruxelles and from there straight to Loughborough. We came to Bruxelles and it was very busy there. Many people were running in different directions. My parents and me had enough time to spend some at a Häagen Dazs Café-quite expensive! But after a coffee americano/ cappuccino and some delicious Häagen Dazs ice-cream(banana/caramel i had to say "Goodbye". It was a sad situation and me and my mother cried (only a little bit!) before I was totally on my own. I managed the tour to London St. Pancras and from threre I had only 30 minutes to catch the East Midlands train to Loughborough. There were some trouble so I arrived 25 minutes later than I planned. But everything turned out fine. Judith catched me up and we drove home to East Leake. A little village with a supermarket, a pub, a butcher, some cafés, a vet, more churches and so on and so forth. She cooked me a perfect meal with...
