weekend trip to London

Hi everyone!

I thought it would be nice to keep you all updated. While this weekend is more relaxed last weekend was busy and very exciting for me and two of my German friends, who came over to England to spend a weekend with me.

We met on Friday in the evening and my train arrived in London at 1 o'clock. Therefore, I had time to check in into our hostel and to fresh up. Afterwards, I went to the Museum of London, which is an interactive Musuem which is close to St. Paul's Cathedral. The musuem is relatively new and it was really good. When I arrived they asked me if I would like to join a guided tour through the musuem which was called "Roman London". I thought "Why not?" and joined the tour. It was really interesting and the female tour guide told London's history in a very entertaining manner.
I went outside afterwards and because I had a little more time I went into Topshop and lucky as I am I found a nice skirt and a pretty top. I just love Topshop all the people are so trendy and the clothes are just pretty.

Later, I met J and L (two very good friends from Germany) and we were all hungry so we went to a nice restaurant which I had tried with my other friend. It is vegan and because one of my friends (J) is also vegan we decided to go there.
We ate different curries and enjoyed the nice atmosphere in the restaurant "Deliciously Ella". She is a famous English cook and I here is a link to her youtube channel:

We strolled through the city streets and saw the nice christmas decorations. It was really pretty seeing Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and all other streets so brightly illuminated.
Here is one little insight of what we saw

We went to our hostel (Generator Hostel, a cheap and clean youth hostel with a great location!) and we just stayed in the hostel bar for some drinks and talked and talked and talked. It was relaxing with the two girls and good to catch up. We went to our room and slept because we had big plans for the next day.
It was L's first time in London so J and me showed her around. We downloaded maps and just walked through the city. We wanted to present her Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, various bridges, St. James Park and many more sights. So, we did a long walk through London.

J wanted to buy something from the Hard Rock café so we went into the famous Hard Rock café which is located next to Green Park. After our long tour we wanted to eat something nice so I recommended Wagamama. It is a food chain which serves Asian cuisine and I went to one restaurant in Manchester so I really wanted to go again. The food is ever so fresh and very tasty.

After this we had to get back to the hostel because we wanted to arrive on time in the Wembley arena! We had booked tickets for a concert of our favourite bands! THE KOOKS!
So we bought something to drink for our way and went to the arena. The took a train to Wembley park and then the arena was only 5 minutes away. The opening act was "DMA's" and the whole concert was just amazing. The Kooks played among all famous songs (like "Be Who You Are", "Ooh La", "She Moves In Her Own Way", "Naive", "Shine On", Always Where I Need To Be" my favourite song "Sweet Emotion". At the moment I am listening to the album again and again because I am still infected by the euphoria of being at a great concert :D

In the evening we went to our area (the area around King's Cross where platform 9 3/4 is located) and we went out for drinks. We stayed up until 3 o'clock and J and L had to leave because their flight left really early.
I could sleep and I also had the sundays to spend in London because my train just left at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I had a big English breakfast in the hostel, went to the "Natural History Museum" and enjoyed the very relaxig day.

On this day I also bought my present for Secret Santa with my cousins (yes all the shops are open here on Sundays!) and then I just strolled around London.
I love the atmosphere and London is still my favourite city:)

That was my weekend with impressions. I really enjoyed the time with my two crazy friends and this weekend will be very relaxing. I will visit the "Lincoln Christmas Market" tomorrow and on Sunday we will go to church and relax :)
The weekend after this weekend I will travel to Manchester (again) and to Liverpool (for the first time) with the French assistant. This journey will be busy again because my French friend loves visitig places and she always wants to get up very early to visit as many places as possible. So let's see how this will be!:D I am looking forward to visiting Liverpool with the docks and also the Beatles Musuem!

Lots of love, A XXX

Loch Earn- Camping for Sailing

Our weekend at Loch Earn   Loch Earn Now I am already 1 month away from home. How the time rushes! I am happy to make all these experiences. We went camping to "Loch Earn" which is a lake. In Scotland one calls a lake a "loch". The English people have difficulties to pronunce that word, but for Scotish people and German it is easy. The kids sailed and therefore we camped all together there. I must admit: This was my first real camping experience. Since then I only camped at festivals like "Rock am Ring". The proper camping is more luxurious than our party-camping. I had a thick, comfy blowing-up matress and also a cushion(!). We had warm showers with seperate cabins and we had enough electricity. That was really good. My host family are camping-experts so they bought everything we need for cooking, drinking, etc. At our first day it was so windy. We managed to build our tents up and as soon as we were inside it started to rain! What a luck! The ...

Inchcolm Abbey and the Royal Gallery

A lonely island next to the city centre- Inchcolm   This Saturday we took the ferry and went to Inchcolm Abbey. It's a beautfiul island in the Firth of Forth in Scotland. From Edinburgh we drove only 15 minutes to get the ferry and it cost 16 pounds to get to the island and back. Your first thought is that "Wow. This is quit expensive", but it was really worth going on the island! The tour was guided so the speaker told us a lot about the history of the 2 finished bridges and the one which is still in progress at the moment. It was really interesting to hear all about the bridges the railway bridge is for example now Scotland's sixth world heritage site. Then we arrived at the island which is cared for by Historic Scotland. On the island there is an abbey from the 12th century which was built by King David the First. The abbey and it's grounds are fully open to the public and it was so nice to wander around. There are a lot of birds on the island. It...

First Day

Start of my journey- Everything new My journey started on 6th May. I travelled by Eurostar to Bruxelles and from there straight to Loughborough. We came to Bruxelles and it was very busy there. Many people were running in different directions. My parents and me had enough time to spend some at a Häagen Dazs Café-quite expensive! But after a coffee americano/ cappuccino and some delicious Häagen Dazs ice-cream(banana/caramel i had to say "Goodbye". It was a sad situation and me and my mother cried (only a little bit!) before I was totally on my own. I managed the tour to London St. Pancras and from threre I had only 30 minutes to catch the East Midlands train to Loughborough. There were some trouble so I arrived 25 minutes later than I planned. But everything turned out fine. Judith catched me up and we drove home to East Leake. A little village with a supermarket, a pub, a butcher, some cafés, a vet, more churches and so on and so forth. She cooked me a perfect meal with...
